Royal Caribbean Raises Minimum Age for Alcohol Consumption in Europe and South America
Updated Policy Affects Passengers on Sailings from These Regions
Cruising News | December 15, 2023
In a move to align with local regulations and promote responsible alcohol consumption, Royal Caribbean has raised the minimum age to consume alcohol on its ships sailing from Europe and South America to 21 years old.
Previously, the minimum drinking age on Royal Caribbean cruises varied depending on the region of departure. Now, passengers embarking on cruises from Europe or South America will be subject to the new 21-year-old minimum age, regardless of their nationality or passport country.
This change impacts all alcoholic beverages sold and consumed on Royal Caribbean ships, including beer, wine, spirits, and cocktails. Passengers under the age of 21 will not be allowed to purchase or consume alcohol on board during sailings from Europe or South America.
