Inter Milan Finding a Way Reaches Champions League Final
Inter Milan reached the Champions League final for the first time in 13 years as Lautaro Martinez's goal sealed victory over fierce rivals AC Milan in the semi-final. The Nerazzurri will now face Manchester City in the final on May 29.
Martinez's goal came in the 83rd minute of the match, after substitute Alexis Sanchez had set him up with a perfectly weighted pass. The Argentine striker made no mistake with his finish, firing the ball past Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma into the bottom corner.
The victory was a huge relief for Inter Milan, who had been under pressure to deliver after a disappointing season in Serie A. The Nerazzurri finished second in the league, behind rivals Juventus, and were knocked out of the Coppa Italia in the semi-finals.
However, Inter Milan's victory in the Champions League semi-final has given them a chance to end the season on a high. The Nerazzurri will be confident of beating Manchester City in the final and lifting the trophy for the first time since 2010.
